Logan Cawley has watched The Office in its entirety at least 15 times.

“It could very easily be more,” he says.

You could call him dedicated. And that’s not just to his love of his favorite TV show, but also to his to his relationship with indoor cycling.

A member of the Penn State Cycling Club, Cawley began competing in road bicycle events almost a decade ago. He began spinning as a way to supplement his outdoor riding on a stationary bike in a studio. It was during these rides that he discovered an overwhelming sense of community and self-betterment.

“I made it my goal to one day lead the pack so I could contribute to the indoor cycling experience,” he says.

It’s been two months since Cawley began leading the pack in Hingetown and Downtown at Harness Cycle after moving to Cleveland from Pennsylvania. However, just like many adults, his move to a new city first felt slightly isolating.

“I was a stranger in a strange land, and had a difficult time meeting others who shared my passions and interest,” Logan recalls. Until he participated in his first class at Harness.

“I knew afterwards that I had found my people,” he says.

A year into calling Cleveland home, he still happily explores the culinary options available in the city, having almost completed an exploratory tour of all the local breweries. A science and biology teacher by day, when he’s not in the classroom or cycling studio, you can find him spending time with friends, playing Magic the Gathering (yep!), riding his bike around town and mixing music.

Up until joining the harness community, Logan’s mixes were only heard by his close friends. Now, his riders get to sweat to tunes he’s handpicked himself.

“When picking tunes for class I aim to curate jammers that are heart-pumpin’ and beat-stompin, and that guide the class from beginning to end,” he says. A result of the harness cycle Instructor cert program, Logan received the guidance he needed to curate playlists that were true to him while motivating, challenging, and guiding the pack. To take a listen for yourself, check out Logan’s Spotify Playlist to enjoy and help get yourself motivated for whatever the day may throw your way.

Never been to a spin class before? For being new in town and new to instructing, Logan reminds folks that everyone was once new at something, and always feel free to ask the community for help and guidance. Come with an open mind and expect to leave with a full heart.

“harness cycle is more than a spin studio. It is an inclusive, supporting, and challenging community, and I love being part of that.”

Now that’s dedication.
