Day 18.
Complete a Puzzle
Author | Gus Roversi
While you might not think of it as a traditional form of meditation, working on a puzzle can be a great mindfulness exercise. I find it helps me redirect my attention to the present moment and allows my mind to focus.
There is a theory in psychology called the effort driven rewards circuit, which says the use of your hands (crafting, doing puzzles, cooking, etc.) activates a part of our brain that makes us happier. Something as simple as completing a puzzle can have a huge positive impact on your mental well being.
It’s also a cozy activity for the winter months and can be a great way to unwind at the end of the night!
